EcoSolutions edges Jacobs, 61-55

Stepping up their game in order to clutch a podium finish this season, Pink – EcoSolutions was victorious over the underperforming Yellow Gold – Jacobs team, 61-55, in the preliminaries of 7th Consultants’ Cup held at JCSGO Christian Academy Gymnasium, April 27.

Both team asserted themselves in the shaded lane in the first minutes of the first quarter. After exchanging blows in the opening canto, a big push exerted by the pink players in the remaining five minutes of the quarter changed the complexion of the battle, 14-8.

Challenging the comfortable lead imposed by their opponents, Jacobs threatened a rally for their team in the second and third quarter to compensate for the slippery game plays they performed in the initial quarter but the plan became unsuccessful due to Ecosolutions’ resistance, 49-39.

But during the last canto, it was as intense as it could get. Jacobs thrilled the crowd in the hard court through maneuvering the earlier plays to slim the margin into 4 points.

Now faced with a possible downfall, the pink team rebounded through displaying much more weapons to throw that quelled a late rally to win the match with a 6-point advantage, 61-55.

“Medyo kinakapos kami sa bandang huli e kaya kailangan pa namin talagang i-work-out iyon. Kailangan pa talaga naming mag-usap at pag-igihan ang depensa,” said EcoSolutions team captain.

With the resounding triumph, this isn’t the EcoSolutions squad’s first impressive win in the current series of Consultants’ Cup. They won against RTM in their first game — adding to their remarkable 2-0 record right now.
